I briefly visited NY a few weeks ago. I did what most New Yorkers do: worked like a dog, stepped onto the streets and wave down taxis, and ate great deli food. A few photos are on flickr.

Thanks for posting these photos. I live in New York City so it is always interesting for me to see what people visiting choose to see and photograph.
It looks like you spent a good deal of time in mid-town Manhattan. I know you saw the front exterior of the city's main library (and its lion statues).
I hope you also had enough free time to go inside. The building is a marvel, as is its backyard - Bryant Park. Both are real treasures and nice escapes from the noise and congestion of mid-town.
I also hope you were able to venture north to see at least the southern end of Central Park. Even though it's winter, cold and windy, Central Park is still beautiful.
Lastly, if you return, I hope you need not work like a dog and have enough time to see other parts of the city.
Mid-town is where a lot of people, including me, work. But very few people live there. It's a good place to watch New Yorkers compete with each other. But, it's not really a full picture of how they live their lives.
Thanks for your message, Sean. Yes, I spent all my time in Midtown. I didn't make it into the library - hopefully next time, because I do like the atmosphere in libraries. So quiet. I was intrigued by the lions out front, patience and fortitude, both qualities I could use more of!
